Italian Cuisine and Traditions

Italian cuisine is loved worldwide for its delicious and authentic dishes. Pasta, pizza, ice cream, coffee, and Italian cheeses are just a few of the specialties that have captivated the palates of millions. Despite the unfortunate prevalence of low-quality products and fake traditional preparations often served to tourists, Italian cuisine remains one of the most coveted in the world.

Italian culture is also characterized by a strong tradition of family and community. Italian families are often close-knit, and family ties are considered of great importance. Religious holidays, such as Easter and Christmas, are celebrated with great enthusiasm and are often accompanied by specific cultural and culinary traditions.

While this is a generalization, the moments of shared meals reflect the importance of social connections and the passion Italians have for cooking. The moments spent together at the table are cherished memories for both children and teenagers, whether with family or friends. Even when we moved to the Netherlands, we tried to bring this love for shared meals with us, often discovering completely different habits.
